MDLBEAST has announced on Instagram that Soundstorm 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will not take place as planned, and that the festival will return in 2027. The seventh edition had been scheduled for December 3 to 4, 2026 at Banban Grounds, with tickets already on sale.
In the statement, MDLBEAST wrote: "We know we said we'd see you at Soundstorm this year, so this is not the update we wanted to share. With regret, this year's Soundstorm will not take place as planned." The organizer added: "We will turn all our excitement and energy to the 2027 edition, and come back better and stronger."
The wording changes depending on the channel. The Instagram post says the festival will not take place as planned, while an email to ticket holders, reported by Gulf News, described the festival as postponed. Several music and business outlets have described it as a cancellation.
In the meantime, MDLBEAST is pointing fans to its official website and the NOFOMO app for updates on upcoming local events.

The festival first took place in December 2019 as MDL Beast Festival. The 2020 edition was cancelled because of COVID-19, and the event came back as Soundstorm in 2021. Past performers include Bruno Mars, Post Malone, Cardi B and DJ Khaled.
The sixth edition ran from December 11 to 13, 2025, with more than 250 artists across 14 stages. Headliners included Post Malone, Benson Boone, Anyma, Kaytranada, Metro Boomin, Tyla, Cardi B and Pitbull.
The Soundstorm news came after the sixth Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah announced on September 21 that it would be postponed. The film festival had been scheduled for December 3 to 12 and will return in late 2027, with organizers citing logistical requirements.
