FIFA Just Announced the First Ever World Cup Final Halftime Show and the Lineup Is Massive

FIFA and Global Citizen officially announced on May 14, 2026 that the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey will feature a halftime show for the first time ever in the tournament's history. The announcement was made through a social media video featuring Coldplay's Chris Martin alongside Sesame Street characters including Elmo and Cookie Monster, as well as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and other Muppets. Martin even FaceTimes BTS in the video. He said of the show: "This is not about me. It's about all of us. It's about being together."
