Known for her intense Hard Techno style, Sara Landry has made her mark with powerful beats and energetic shows, earning her the nickname "Witch of Hard Techno." Her latest album, Spiritual Driveby, mixes heavy sounds with unique vocals, showing off her own style and winning over fans.

Landry explains that she wants her music to feel accessible, saying, "It’s one of the best feelings, that sense of thrill." In the past year, her popularity has jumped, partly thanks to her set with Boiler Room, which brought her a lot of attention. This set helped open up new opportunities, leading her to big stages like EDC Las Vegas and making her the first Hard Techno artist to perform on the main stage at Tomorrowland. Every one of her U.S. shows this year sold out, and with her album now released, she’s gearing up for her Eternalism tour in Europe next year.

Raised in Austin, Texas, Landry developed her interest in club music while studying sound at NYU. After college, she did data analysis, taught music software, organized local events, and streamed live during the pandemic. An agent soon helped her grow a larger fan base across North America. As Hard Techno became more popular in the U.S. and Europe, Landry saw it as a powerful form of expression, especially during hard times.

For her, Hard Techno is more than just strong beats; it’s a way to let go of emotions. “In difficult times, people need something intense, something to let them release their energy and escape for a moment,” she explains. Social media, especially TikTok, has brought her music to more fans, with short clips from her shows reaching a younger audience.

While Landry adds some mainstream style to her music, she still believes it should be open and enjoyable for everyone. She feels that “parties should be fun” and open to everyone without barriers. She knows some fans feel strongly about keeping underground music exclusive, but social media has allowed her to reach more people.

Landry’s current tour includes stops in the U.S., South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. Her Eternalism tour kicks off in Amsterdam this January, with more cities to be announced.

Thai fans can catch Sara Landry live at the 808 Festival from December 6-8 at BITEC Bangna in Bangkok—her first performance in Thailand.
