If you listen to music every day, whether on the way somewhere, at the gym, or before sleep, this is good news for you

A new study shows that listening to music regularly may reduce the risk of dementia by more than 30% The research followed thousands of people over several years and used data from the ASPREE study, which focuses on aging and brain health

The results showed that people who listen to music often had up to 39% lower risk of dementia compared to those who rarely listen People who also play music had around 35% lower risk

One reason for this is that music activates many parts of the brain at the same time It supports memory, emotions, and thinking, which helps keep the brain active over time

For EDM listeners, this is even more interesting Electronic music often has complex rhythms and layers Whether it is techno, drum and bass, or trance, these sounds keep the brain engaged and processing continuously

However, the study does not suggest listening at very loud levels Listening at a safe volume is what brings long term benefits

So next time you are deep in your playlist or watching a sunrise set at a festival, remember you are not only enjoying the moment but also taking care of your brain
