Martin Garrix, David Guetta, and Afrojackhave just released their first official collaboration, Our Time, out now on Spinnin’ Records. After years of crossing paths on lineups, co-signing each other’s sets, and appearing together at festivals, the three producers have now joined forces on a single project. The release also includes Amél, a French-Algerian producer and co-writer, who adds to the cross-generational and international scope of the collaboration. Premiered during Amsterdam Music Festival at ADE in 2023 and later played at David Guetta’s F** Me I’m Famous* residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza, Our Time built strong momentum in live sets before its release.
This single also marks Martin Garrix’s return to Spinnin’ Records, a label he parted ways with over a decade ago. His last official release on the imprint was during the early 2010s, including the breakout hit Animals which helped define his career. Releasing Our Time on Spinnin’ alongside two of his earliest influences adds another layer of significance to the project. David Guetta and Afrojackhave a long collaborative history, including the 2011 hit Titanium, which became one of the most recognizable songs of EDM’s peak years. Although all three artists have appeared together on stage and supported one another's work for over ten years, Our Time is their first official release as a trio.
Each contributor brings a distinct sound to the project. Martin Garrix is known for his melodic progressions and emotional builds that work well in large-scale settings. David Guetta focuses on structure and balance, shaping the mix for wide audiences and big-room environments. Afrojack adds sharper drum patterns and rhythmic sections that reflect his early Dutch house roots. Amél’s role as co-writer can be heard in the overall arrangement and structure, even though they are not credited as a vocalist.
Unlike many big-name collaborations that feel disconnected, Our Time shows a sense of familiarity shaped by years of shared stages and mutual respect. Each artist contributes elements that reflect their individual styles, but the result is cohesive without sounding forced. At a time when many DJs are focused on solo releases, this collaboration offers something more grounded in history and creative alignment.
