A new documentary that chronicles the life and career of Avicii, the renowned electronic music producer, is set to stream on Netflix starting December 31. This film retraces the legendary artist's journey, from his early beginnings to his battle with mental health challenges leading up to his untimely passing in 2018.
Titled "Avicii – I’m Tim," the documentary delves into Avicii's rise in the music industry, his struggles with mental health, and his eventual departure. It features never-before-seen footage and interviews with friends and family, offering an intimate view into the life of this iconic artist. Additionally, the documentary includes recordings of his last live performance at Ushuaïa Ibiza in 2016, which marked his final show before stepping back from touring to focus on his mental health.
Directed by Henrik Burman and produced by Björn Tjärnberg and the Candamo Film team, this film thoughtfully portrays Avicii’s life while highlighting mental health issues within the music industry that are often overlooked.
On another note, the Tim Bergling Foundation, established after Avicii’s passing, continues to support mental health initiatives, particularly for young people. Recently, the foundation partnered with Sweden's Dance For Life project to raise mental health awareness through music and art, aiming to help youth prevent unexpected tragedies.
