It is the seventh edition since the festival launched in 2019, and tickets go on sale this October. For anyone in Thailand weighing up whether to go, this article gathers what you need to know before deciding.

How Tomorrowland Winter Differs From the Main Festival in Belgium

The main Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium, takes place in midsummer on flat ground. Tomorrowland Winter moves the entire festival onto a ski resort sitting at around 1,860 metres. The format is ski or snowboard by day across more than 250 kilometres of slopes, with stages scattered across the mountain such as Le Signal, Folie Douce and Chantebise. When the lifts stop in the evening, everyone heads down to the village for the indoor MainStage and further stages including Moosebar and CAGE.

The question Thai readers ask most is whether you can go without skiing. The answer is yes. Mountain stages are accessible on foot, and the night-time MainStage is in the village where no skis are needed. Every ticket type includes a lift and ski pass regardless.

Ticket Types and On-Sale Dates

The on-sale schedule is: 7-day packages on 3 October 2026 at 15:00 CEST, 4-day packages on 10 October 2026 at 15:00 CEST, and all festival-only tickets on 10 October 2026 at 17:00 CEST. In Thailand that is 20:00, 20:00 and 22:00 respectively. All sales are through the official Tomorrowland website only.

Ahead of the sale, Tomorrowland has launched a price simulator on its website that lets you select ticket type, accommodation and travel to see a total in advance. It is worth doing before sale day, as accommodation ranges from hostels and hotels to chalets.

Attendees must be 18 or over before the festival begins. The organiser states there are no exceptions, even when accompanied by an adult.

Getting There and What to Prepare

The first item for Thai travellers is the visa. France is in the Schengen area, so Thai passport holders need a Schengen visa in advance, and it is worth allowing several weeks as European visa appointments fill up early in the year.

Three main airports serve Alpe d'Huez: Grenoble, the closest at around 90 minutes by road; Lyon at around 2 hours; and Geneva at around 3 hours. The organiser runs festival shuttles from Grenoble railway station and from the valley town of Bourg-d'Oisans up to the resort, and train, bus and car options can be added when buying a package. There are no direct flights from Bangkok to any of the three, so expect at least one connection in Europe or the Middle East.

The last item is the weather. The village sits at around 1,860 metres and the top of the ski area reaches 3,330 metres. March is still full winter, and sub-zero temperatures are normal, especially at night when walking to the MainStage. Ordinary European travel jackets are not enough. Bring proper snow clothing, non-slip footwear and sunscreen, as sun at altitude is far stronger than at ground level.
