Stepping Up to Belgian Standards! Tomorrowland Thailand Eyes Two-Week Expansion Starting in 2027, Pushing Hotel Bookings Past 90,000 Nights

The information was shared during the "Travel Partner Gathering at Wisdom Valley" on September 17 at 3:30 PM. Attendees included Dr. Watcharapong Kunpluem (President of the Thai Hotels Association Eastern Chapter), representatives from Tomorrowland, the Embassy of Belgium in Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the President of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization, the Mayor of Pattaya, as well as executives from public and private sectors and various hotels.

Tomorrowland Thailand is scheduled to be held from December 11 to 13, 2026. Organizers expect more than 30,000 attendees per day over the three days. The provincial governor stated that even with about three months remaining, hotel bookings in Pattaya and Chonburi have already reached 42,000 nights.

Authorities estimate the economic impact in the first year to be more than 5 billion baht, of which 1.4 to 1.5 billion baht will be direct spending by event attendees. As for the plan for 2027, the event will be expanded to six days across two weekends, and hotel room demand is expected to increase to 90,000 nights.

Provincial Governor Naris summarized five expected benefits for Chonburi and Thailand:

1. Revenue to local businesses: It is expected that more than 90% of event attendees will be foreigners, with money being distributed to restaurants, street food stalls, taxis, songthaews, ferries to Koh Larn, massage shops, and community products.

2. Employment and skills: This event is expected to create more than 7,500 local jobs, including stage construction, transportation, food services, security, and medical units, with training provided through the Tomorrowland Academy.

3. Global visibility: The name "Pattaya, Thailand" will appear alongside the Tomorrowland brand in international media.

4. Longer stays and wider travel: Visitors are expected to stay longer and travel further to Bangkok, Rayong, and other provinces.

5. Long-term certainty: The five-year hosting agreement aims to support investment planning and strengthen relations between Thailand and Belgium.

Dr. Watcharapong presented perspectives on the cooperation between the Pattaya hotel market and the global music festival, while Paul Neuteboom, Festival Director of Tomorrowland Thailand, and his team presented the Global Journey travel packages aimed at building long-term cooperation.

The provincial governor asked hotel operators to view this festival as a long-term cooperation, set fair and sustainable prices to preserve Pattaya's image, and maintain service standards as well as booking reliability.

"A visitor's experience does not end on the stage," he said. "But it begins and ends in the hotel room, in the lobby, and in the smile of the hotel staff. Every operator is a true host who will jointly write this piece of history and bring pride to Chonburi and Thailand."
