Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, stated that the project to bring Tomorrowland to Thailand is becoming more realistic. The government is currently in active discussions and preparation with the Tomorrowland executive team.
The Prime Minister explained that Thailand will not just be a “host venue” but will serve as the “heart of the event.” The aim is to include Thai culture throughout the festival and involve Thai people in every part of the experience. This approach is intended to benefit the country, especially in terms of supporting Thai artists, strengthening the music industry, and boosting the creative economy.
Tomorrowland is one of the largest music festivals in the world, based in Belgium. It is known for featuring world-famous DJs and large-scale production that attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees each year. The festival generates significant income for host cities and supports local tourism.
“This is not just about having fun. It is a new opportunity for Thailand to grow through new income sources, new creative industries, and new platforms for Thai artists,” said the Prime Minister. “It is also a step forward in our effort to position Thailand as a true global event destination under a consistent soft power strategy.”
This project continues the direction first introduced during the term of former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, who aimed to promote Thailand as a center for global events. Music festivals like Tomorrowland are seen as a way to build international recognition and open more economic opportunities for the Thai people.
