Tomorrowland has broken the record for the most watched livestream on TikTok, attracting more than 74 million unique viewers during its two week event. This is an increase of 362.5 percent compared to last year and shows how livestreaming has become an essential part of modern music festivals.

Content with the hashtag #Tomorrowland reached 2.4 billion views. The festival’s official TikTok account gained 1.9 million new followers, bringing the total to 9.2 million. This success came from a long term partnership between Tomorrowland and TikTok, with live coverage from multiple stages available 24 hours a day to connect fans who could not attend and inspire interest in future editions.

The collaboration also helped artists grow their audiences through TikTok’s on site Content Studio. Collectively they gained 3 million new followers and their videos were viewed more than 580 million times. TikTok’s SoundOn label and Tomorrowland Music also hosted a songwriting camp that produced new tracks for the festival. Highlights include Alan Walker’s “Heartbreak Melody” which became the most viewed song of the livestream with 4 million streams in two weeks, and “Same Thing” by Ely Oaks and LAVINIA which reached 1 million streams in its first week.

Electronic music is continuing to grow on TikTok, with the hashtag #electronicmusic now at more than 36 billion views. Tomorrowland’s record breaking numbers show how strong partnerships can create new opportunities for both artists and fans, and confirm TikTok as a major platform for the future of live music streaming.
