Ultra Music Festival has officially announced its first ever New Zealand edition, marking a new addition to the brand’s Ultra Worldwide network. The festival is set to take place in 2026, bringing one of electronic music’s most established global events to the country for the first time.
The debut edition of Ultra New Zealand will be held at the Wellington Waterfront. The location places the festival in the heart of the capital, using an open-air waterfront setting that has previously hosted large-scale cultural and music events. According to organisers, the event is planned as a one-day festival with multiple stages, aligning with Ultra’s international format while adapting to the local setting.

Ultra’s expansion into New Zealand continues a broader push into new territories following decades of growth across North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, and Australia. The Ultra Worldwide brand is best known for Ultra Music Festival Miami, alongside long-running editions in destinations such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Croatia, and Australia. Each edition typically features large-scale production, established stage designs, and lineups built around internationally recognised electronic music artists.
While the lineup for Ultra New Zealand has not yet been announced, organisers have confirmed that further details, including artist announcements and ticket information, will be released at a later date. Based on previous Ultra editions, the festival is expected to feature a mix of global headliners alongside regional acts, reflecting both the international identity of the brand and the local electronic music scene.
The announcement positions New Zealand as the latest country to join the Ultra Worldwide calendar, reinforcing the brand’s continued expansion across new markets. More information on Ultra New Zealand, including dates and lineup details, is expected in the coming months.
