Krewella are back with their latest single Crying On The Dancefloor, following a three-year break from releasing music.

Since their last release in 2022, the Chicago-born sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf have stayed out of the spotlight. But in 2025, they’ve officially returned with Crying On The Dancefloor, which dropped on June 9. This marks not only their first release in years but also a clear shift in sound and a willingness to try something new.

Jahan and Yasmine began as one of the few female duos in the EDM scene. They made their name in the early 2010s with a style that blended dubstep, electro, trap, and pop. Their early singles like Alive and their debut album Get Wet became widely popular and helped Krewella earn lasting recognition among EDM listeners.

After releasing their album The Body Never Lies in 2022, the pair took a long break from new releases. While they still performed at the occasional festival or club event, fans had been waiting for something new. That moment finally came in 2025 with Crying On The Dancefloor, which immediately caught attention from fans around the world.

This new single marks a new chapter for Krewella. The song takes on a techno style, with a fast, driving beat and a darker emotional tone. It’s a noticeable shift from their earlier sound, which leaned more toward pop and melodic elements. Rather than repeat what worked before, they’ve chosen to step outside their comfort zone and take a new approach.

Crying On The Dancefloor is more than just a comeback. It’s proof that Krewella are still full of ideas, still passionate about what they do, and still ready to grow without being stuck in the past.

The single is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube
