What happens when a Justin Bieber lookalike takes over the stage at a Gryffin show in Vegas? A mix of confusion, laughter and just a hint of chaos.
During Gryffin’s set at XS Nightclub in Wynn Encore Resort, the American DJ/producer was unexpectedly joined when a Bieber impersonator hopped up to perform his version of the pop star’s hit “Sorry.” Many fans speculated that Gryffin had been duped, having been told that Justin Bieber himself was in attendance and planning a surprise appearance.
In a video later shared on Gryffin’s Instagram, the man can be seen in sunglasses and a hoodie, closely resembling Bieber. Gryffin leaned into the prank by captioning the clip with the hashtag #biebergate, though he admitted afterward, “And after 4 minutes and 27 seconds of what sounded like Justin Bieber, I found out the worst news imaginable.” He joked further, saying, “I kind of thought like damn, he’s put on a lot of weight.”
Wynn Resorts later addressed the incident, clarifying how the impersonator ended up on stage. “After an elaborate and multi-step ruse by him and his advance team, a Justin Bieber impersonator was granted access to the XS stage. As soon as the error was recognized, he was removed from the resort and denied future entry,” a representative for Wynn said in a statement.
The prank did not last long, but it quickly became a talking point among fans, with some admitting they almost believed it was Justin Bieber before the truth was revealed. The question now is whether Justin Bieber himself will acknowledge or comment on the incident.
